Rastelli sacked by Cagliari

Cagliari have decided to part ways with coach Massimo Rastelli just eight games into the 2017/18 Serie A season.
With just two wins and six losses, Rastelli paid the price for a poor start to the season despite leading the club to the Italian top flight after promotion from Serie B in the 2015/16 season.
He becomes the first coach fired in Serie A to be fired this season, having guided Cagliari to an 11th place finish last term.
Rastelli, who has previously managed Juve Stabia, Brindisi, Portogruaro and Avellino, lost his job after two days after a 3-2 home loss to Genoa, who had yet to win a game.
Assistants Nicola Legrottaglie and Dario Rossi were also let go.
Cagliari issued a club statement thanking Rastelli for his successes with the club that included promotion as well as a season of consolidation in the Italian top-flight.
"We thank Rastelli for over two years of work with professionalism and passion.
"He was a protagonist in winning Serie B and in reaching 11th place last season, and we wish him good luck for the rest of his career."
The club is yet to announce a temporary or full-time replacement but Massimo Oddo and Giuseppe Iachini are two names being bandied about by the media.
