Müller ruled out for Bayern for three weeks

FC Bayern München have confirmed that star forward Thomas Müller has been ruled out for up to three weeks after tearing a thigh muscle in the club’s 1-0 win over Hamburger SV.
The 28-year-old came on as a second-half substitute for James Rodríguez at the Volksparkstadion, before providing the assist for Corentin Tolisso to score the only goal of the game.
However, he did not last much longer in the contest as he went down with the thigh injury and was replaced by Thiago after less than 10 minutes on the field of play.
After the encounter, he underwent a Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan back in Munich on Sunday, and it was confirmed that he was ruled out for at least three weeks despite coach Jupp Heynckes’ hopes it would be for far less.
As such, Müller is set to miss back-to-back matches against RB Leipzig in the DFB Cup and Bundesliga respectively. In addition, the Germany star will not play against Celtic in the UEFA Champions League. It appears he will also not feature against Borussia Dortmund in Der Klassiker on 4 November.
